This Ain’t Your Mother’s TaB(TM)

TORONTO, June 15 /CNW/ – Young, chic women from across Toronto will
gather Saturday night at the StyleXchange to help celebrate the arrival of TaB
energy(TM) to Canada.

While TaB energy(TM) shares the old TaB(TM) brand name, that is where the
similarities end — it is not a cola — it is a new, deliciously pink, sugar-
free energy drink with only five calories per 269mL can. Available in an eye-
catching, fashionably pink can, TaB energy(TM) was created specifically for
women with a sense of style and purpose.

“Young women have been telling us that they want their own energy drink,
one that reflects their style and individuality,” said Andrea Connolly, Senior
Brand Manager, Coca-Cola Ltd. “TaB energy(TM) is cool, retro, feminine and
stylish – it’s made just for women, plus at five calories per can, you don’t
have to worry about whether you are going to fit into that killer outfit.”

The first TaB energy(TM) “Fuel to be Fabulous” by-invitation-only party
will feature all the things that a young woman of style wants – hot music,
cool clothes, hair extensions, bling, and so much more. The first 100 female
guests will receive a $25 pre-loaded StyleXchange gift card to help begin the
shopping experience, while DJ Simon Jain will be spinning the tunes. Ice My
Device will be on hand to provide free Swarovski crystal applications for
guest’s cell phones and IPODS, and pink hair extensions will be provided by
true. A “Romance-o-logist” will also be offering free consultations to the
ladies in attendance, while body painted male models will be serving TaB
energy(TM).

In additional to refreshing the party scene, TaB energy(TM) will also be
hitting the fashion scene with a student design competition in association
with the International Academy of Design and Technology. As part of the
upcoming year’s curriculum, students will be challenged to create the perfect
TaB energy(TM) bag with the winner taking home $1,000 and bragging rights, as
their winning design will be unveiled later this year at a special event
during Fashion Week.

TaB energy(TM) contains a blend of four key ingredients – taurine,
caffeine, niacin, and vitamin B6 and is sweetened with a combination of
sucralose and acesulfame-potassium (Ace-K).

The launch of TaB energy(TM) will be supported by an extensive marketing
campaign including national print, sampling and cinema. The focus will be:
women pursuing a variety of activities in their busy lives and carries the
tagline “TaB energy … Fuel To Be Fabulous.” There will also be eight
exclusive additional launch parties held across the country this summer in
Toronto, Halifax, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.

Recognizing that many women need support in their everyday lives,
Coca-Cola will be donating $5,000, plus all funds raised during sampling
opportunities, to the United Way to support community programs, including
prevention of violence against women.
